If you haven’t heard of Lincoln Hall yet – you soon will! The Smoky Dawson Foundation was thrilled to provide a grant to this amazing young singer song-writer through the Talent Development Project.

Lincoln was accepted into the National Institute of Dramatic Art’s music theatre course at the age of seventeen, and subsequently awarded the Bell Shakespeare Regional Scholarship. After graduating, Lincoln received the ASCAP/TDP Bound for Broadway Scholarship, which took him to Washington D.C. and New York to train with leading performance coaches, perform at the Kennedy Center, and develop and present a cabaret in NYC. While touring Australia in the professional productions of Rock of Ages (for which he was nominated for a Melbourne Green Room Award), War Horse, and Les Miserables, Lincoln has been writing, directing and producing numerous short films and music videos, and in 2013 began a songwriting partnership with Nicholas Gentile. You can find information about their original song cycle Together Apart at www.nickandlincoln.com

“It is a real honour to receive a grant from the Smoky Dawson Foundation. Smoky Dawson was so proudly Australian, and so passionate about Australian storytelling, and I hope to bring those same qualities that he exemplified into my own work in a theatrical medium. This grant has allowed me to focus on developing my songwriting, and make large steps in sharing it with audiences, and I am sincerely grateful.” LINCOLN HALL, July 2015

We can’t wait to see what you do next Lincoln!
